Editorial policy
Clever Film Spotlight aims to make film design easier to notice and discuss. We distinguish observable details from interpretation, check factual claims with care and make our standards visible when a story or partnership could affect how readers understand the work.
Accuracy and context
We review names, terminology and production details before publication and use reliable, relevant sources where claims need support. A visual reading is not the same as a verified account of a filmmaker’s intention, so we try to keep those separate. If information is uncertain or disputed, we will not present a guess as settled fact.
Independence and corrections
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. We do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for payment or access. Readers can report an error through the Contact page; when a correction is warranted, we update the affected text and explain the change where appropriate.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. A partnership does not determine our conclusions. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that applies, we identify them, and we do not present illustrative imagery as documentary evidence.
