Write for us
We welcome pitches that help readers notice how film worlds are made: a clear, original idea about locations, sets, props, costumes or the choices that connect them. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article.
What we welcome
Strong contributions explain one focused subject in accessible language. You might unpack how a kind of location can affect a scene, compare two ways a screen space is built, or explore the history of a design practice. We especially value fresh angles that do not depend on insider access or specialist jargon.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the proposed subject, the main point readers will take away and why the idea suits Clever Film Spotlight. Include a brief outline and note any sources or specific films you expect to discuss. Make clear which parts are documented facts and which are your interpretation; do not imply access, credentials or experience you do not have.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then include your pitch in the message. A proposal is not a commission, and we may ask for clarification before deciding whether it fits. Please do not send a full draft unless we have requested one.
